I’ve never seen a character driven plot that made me simultaneously love and hate the main character second by second. For my generation, Simon Rex has always been a staple for parody comedy movies, or even comedic rap videos, so seeing him pull his weight as an emotionally cringey lead role was nice because I always hoped he had a performance like this in him, but at the same time it all felt so real that rooting for him was very complicated. There’s truly no other movie like this so take that as you will and give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
